How to Read Your Job/Work Order

Before starting every job, always take a few minutes to review the entire Job/Work Order in MaidCentral. This tells you what type of cleaning is scheduled, how to access the home, what the client requested and if there are any special instructions you need to follow.

QUICK OVERVIEW:

1. Check the Type of Cleaning and Job Tagging

Start by reviewing the tagging/service type.

Look for whether the job is a:

  • Maintenance Cleaning
  • Top-to-Bottom Cleaning
  • Priority Cleaning
  • Other Special Service

This is important because the type of cleaning tells you what level of service is expected. While the Job Tags will tell you about any special instruction or things you need to know before entering the home.

2. Review the Billing Terms

Check how the client will be paying for the service.

It may show:
Credit Card, Cash, or Check

If you are unsure, contact the office before leaving the job.

3. Check Add-Ons or Extras

Always review whether the client added any extra services.

These may include things such as:
inside the oven, inside the refrigerator, additional rooms or other special services.

Make sure you complete every add-on listed on the Work Order so nothing is missed.

4. Read Directions

Review them before driving to or entering the property.

These notes may help you:
find the correct home, locate the entrance, find parking or avoid getting lost.

5. Read the Access Information

Always check Access Information before contacting the office.

The client may have already provided instructions for:
gate codes, keys, lockboxes, door entry, parking or where to enter the home.

Follow the instructions first. If you still cannot access the property, then contact the office for assistance.

6. Check Pet Instructions

Review any notes about pets before entering the home.

The client may provide instructions about where pets will be, whether they should remain inside or outside or anything you need to be aware of while cleaning.

7. Review Waste Disposal Instructions

Check where the client would like trash to be placed after cleaning.

This may be:
an outside trash bin, garage container, dumpster, trash room, or another designated location.

8. Job Instructions & Special Client Instructions

This is one of the most important parts of the Work Order.

These notes may include specific client requests, areas to focus on, areas to skip, special surfaces, or instructions that may be different from the client’s previous cleaning.

Never assume the instructions are the same as the last visit. Read them every time.

If anything is unclear, contact the office before making assumptions or skipping a task.
