When Breakage or Damage Happens
If something is broken, damaged, scratched, chipped, spilled on or otherwise affected during cleaning:
Stop and Do Not Attempt a Repair
Do not:
- Glue the item
- Try to repaint it
- Attempt to fix scratches
- Dispose of the broken item
- Move pieces unnecessarily
- Try to hide the damage
Take Photos
Take clear photos showing:
- The entire item
- The damaged area
- The surrounding area
- Any broken pieces
If possible, take photos from more than one angle.
Contact the Office Immediately
Notify the office as soon as the incident happens.
Provide:
- Client name
- Item damaged
- What happened
- Photos
- Whether anyone was injured
- Whether the area is safe
Notify the client
If client is at home, you may notify them directly.
If client is not home:
- Fill out the slip below and leave next to the item that was broken on the main kitchen, countertop or dining table.
- Take a photo of the item with the slip filled out and send it to Office.
Do not wait until the end of the day or before you leave the client’s house to report the incident.
