Initial Cleaning (NON-TTB) – Team Lead Playbook
(Simple • Clear • Follow Every Time)
🎯 MISSION
👉 This is a Priority-Based Cleaning (NOT a Deep Clean)
Your job:
- Focus on what matters most
- Make a noticeable difference
- Set up future visits for success
🥇 STEP 1: CONFIRM EXPECTATIONS (ON ARRIVAL)
💬 Say this:
“I see we’re starting with a maintenance cleaning today. The office did mention a Top-to-Bottom cleaning is usually recommended to fully reset the home, but we’ll focus on making the biggest impact with the time we have.”
Then say:
“Some areas may take a couple of visits to fully catch up, but we’ll prioritize what matters most to you.”
✅ Done. Move on.
🥇 STEP 2: GET TOP 3 PRIORITIES
💬 Ask:
“What are the top 3 areas that would make the biggest difference for you today?”
If they say “everything”:
“We’ll absolutely do as much as we can—what areas should we focus on first if time runs short?”
✔ Then CONFIRM:
“Perfect — we’ll focus on [repeat back their priorities].”
👉 This is your cleaning plan.
🥇 STEP 3: DECIDE WHAT TO CLEAN FIRST
🧠 ONE RULE:
👉 Client priorities FIRST
👉 Default priorities SECOND
If client gave priorities:
➡️ Do those FIRST (no exceptions)
If client did NOT give priorities:
➡️ Follow this order:
- Kitchen
- Bathrooms
- Floors (main areas)
After that:
- Dusting
- Trash
- Light straightening
Only if time allows:
- Baseboards
- Detail work
- Heavy buildup
⚠️ GOLDEN RULE
❌ Do NOT clean everything lightly
✅ Fully clean the most important areas
⏱️ STEP 4: MANAGE YOUR TIME
At halfway point:
- Check progress
- Make sure priorities will be finished
If running behind:
👉 STOP lower-priority work
👉 FINISH priority areas
🧠 Ask yourself:
“If the client walked in right now, would they notice the difference?”
If no → refocus
🥇 STEP 5: BEFORE YOU LEAVE (VERY IMPORTANT)
💬 Say this:
“Today we focused on your main priorities — [repeat areas].”
Then say THIS (do not skip):
“As we continue with recurring visits, we’ll be able to rotate through other areas and continue improving the rest of the home over time.”
Optional:
“That’s how we keep everything consistently maintained.”
🧠 DO NOT SAY:
- “We didn’t get to…”
- “We ran out of time…”
👉 Always frame as progress + plan
✅ FINAL CHECK (TEAM LEAD)
Before leaving, make sure:
✔ I reset expectations
✔ I got top 3 priorities
✔ We completed those priorities
✔ We didn’t spread too thin
✔ I communicated clearly before leaving
🔥 ONE LINE TO REMEMBER
“Client priorities first. Make it look better where it matters most.”
