Initial Cleaning (NON-TTB) – Team Lead Playbook

(Simple β€’ Clear β€’ Follow Every Time)

🎯 MISSION

πŸ‘‰ This is a Priority-Based Cleaning (NOT a Deep Clean)

Your job:

  • Focus on what matters most
  • Make a noticeable difference
  • Set up future visits for success

πŸ₯‡ STEP 1: CONFIRM EXPECTATIONS (ON ARRIVAL)

πŸ’¬ Say this:

β€œI see we’re starting with a maintenance cleaning today. The office did mention a Top-to-Bottom cleaning is usually recommended to fully reset the home, but we’ll focus on making the biggest impact with the time we have.”

Then say:

β€œSome areas may take a couple of visits to fully catch up, but we’ll prioritize what matters most to you.”

βœ… Done. Move on.

πŸ₯‡ STEP 2: GET TOP 3 PRIORITIES

πŸ’¬ Ask:

β€œWhat are the top 3 areas that would make the biggest difference for you today?”

If they say β€œeverything”:

β€œWe’ll absolutely do as much as we canβ€”what areas should we focus on first if time runs short?”

βœ” Then CONFIRM:

β€œPerfect β€” we’ll focus on [repeat back their priorities].”

πŸ‘‰ This is your cleaning plan.

πŸ₯‡ STEP 3: DECIDE WHAT TO CLEAN FIRST

🧠 ONE RULE:

πŸ‘‰ Client priorities FIRST
πŸ‘‰ Default priorities SECOND

If client gave priorities:

➑️ Do those FIRST (no exceptions)

If client did NOT give priorities:

➑️ Follow this order:

  1. Kitchen
  2. Bathrooms
  3. Floors (main areas)

After that:
  • Dusting
  • Trash
  • Light straightening

Only if time allows:
  • Baseboards
  • Detail work
  • Heavy buildup

⚠️ GOLDEN RULE

❌ Do NOT clean everything lightly
βœ… Fully clean the most important areas

⏱️ STEP 4: MANAGE YOUR TIME

At halfway point:
  • Check progress
  • Make sure priorities will be finished

If running behind:

πŸ‘‰ STOP lower-priority work
πŸ‘‰ FINISH priority areas

🧠 Ask yourself:

β€œIf the client walked in right now, would they notice the difference?”

If no β†’ refocus

πŸ₯‡ STEP 5: BEFORE YOU LEAVE (VERY IMPORTANT)

πŸ’¬ Say this:

β€œToday we focused on your main priorities β€” [repeat areas].”

Then say THIS (do not skip):

β€œAs we continue with recurring visits, we’ll be able to rotate through other areas and continue improving the rest of the home over time.”

Optional:

β€œThat’s how we keep everything consistently maintained.”

🧠 DO NOT SAY:

  • β€œWe didn’t get to…”
  • β€œWe ran out of time…”

πŸ‘‰ Always frame as progress + plan

βœ… FINAL CHECK (TEAM LEAD)

Before leaving, make sure:

βœ” I reset expectations
βœ” I got top 3 priorities
βœ” We completed those priorities
βœ” We didn’t spread too thin
βœ” I communicated clearly before leaving

πŸ”₯ ONE LINE TO REMEMBER

β€œClient priorities first. Make it look better where it matters most.”
