How to Bill an Additional Tidy Up Service on an Existing Invoice

Purpose: Use this when a client needs an extra service, such as a tidy up, charged after the original invoice was created.
Tools needed: QuickBooks (QB) and Maid Central (MC)
:warning: Important: Once an invoice has been created in Maid Central, it cannot be changed in Maid Central. All edits must be made in QuickBooks.

Steps

  1. Locate the client’s invoice in QuickBooks.
  2. Add the additional Tidy Up service as a line item.
  3. Save the invoice in QuickBooks.
  4. Go back to Maid Central and refresh the invoice. It should now show a balance.
  5. Charge the credit card on file directly from the invoice page in MC.
  6. Confirm completion to your supervisor, for example by replying in the ticket thread.

Notes

  • Don’t try to edit the invoice in Maid Central. Make every change in QuickBooks, then refresh in MC.
  • Don’t charge the card until the invoice shows the updated balance in MC. If it doesn’t, refresh again.
  • Always confirm once the charge is done so the ticket can be closed.
