How to Add a New Slack Channel to the GHL Slack Invitation Form

Whenever a new Slack channel is created in our workspace, you must manually add it to the Invitation to Slack Channel form so new staff are automatically invited to it.

This takes under 1 minute.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Go to the Form

GoHighLevel →
Sites → Forms → Form Builder → Invitation to Slack Channel

Click Edit.

2. Figure Out Which Group the New Channel Belongs To

Match the channel to the correct category:

  • Sales – anything related to leads, sales calls, quotes

  • Marketing – ads, social media, outreach, design

  • Operations – scheduling, operations, admin, escalations

  • Accounting – billing, payroll, finance

  • HR – recruiting, onboarding

  • Technicians – any channel starting with ct- (one per cleaning tech)

  • Trainers – trainer- channels

  • Team Leads – tl- or team-lead related

  • QA – quality-assurance

  • All Staff – workplace-wide general communication

If unclear: Ask Anita.

3. Add the Channel to the Correct Section

  1. Scroll to the correct group (Sales, Ops, Techs, etc.).

  2. Click inside that group’s multi-select checkbox field.

  3. Add a new checkbox option.

  4. Type the channel name exactly as it appears in Slack:

    • all lowercase

    • no # symbol

    • no spaces

    • no emojis

    • example: ct-maria

4. Save the Form

  • Click Save (top right).

  • Click Update Form if prompted.

Done.
The Zap will now automatically invite future new hires to this channel.
