Room Exclusion Pricing – Updated Process (MaidCentral)
Purpose
To standardize pricing and documentation when clients request room exclusions (e.g., bedrooms, bathrooms, dining, or living rooms) using pre-set rate modifications in MaidCentral—while ensuring we do not drop below our $130 minimum for maintenance cleanings.
Overview
Room exclusions can now be handled easily using internal add-ons in MaidCentral:
-
During quoting (manual quotes only): apply room subtractions as add-ons.
-
After booking (even if the job was never quoted): use the Modify Rate function.
🧠 No need to re-quote existing jobs—just apply rate modifications and document the change.
🌐 Room subtractions are for internal use only. They are not available during online bookings.
❌ Do NOT adjust the total square footage on the job when using this process.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Confirm Room Exclusions with the Client
Ask the client:
-
“Which bedroom(s) would you like to exclude?”
-
“Are there any bathrooms, dining areas, or living rooms you’d like us to skip?”
Let them know:
-
These rooms will not be cleaned.
-
Pricing will be adjusted internally.
-
Our minimum charge of $130 for maintenance cleanings still applies.
2. Apply Room Subtractions
A. If Quoting Manually:
-
Use the Add-Ons section to apply:
-
Adjust the quantity if multiple rooms are excluded.
B. If After Booking (Quoted or Not):
-
Go to the job → click Modify Rate → Add Rate Modification
-
Choose from:
-
Room Subtraction ($10.00) | -10 mins -
Bathroom Subtraction ($20.00) | -20 mins -
Kitchen Subtraction ($20.00) | -20 mins
-
❗ These adjustments update time and price only—you do not need to change the square footage field.
⚠️ Enforce the $130 Minimum
Before saving:
-
Check the new total cost after subtractions.
-
If it drops below $130:
-
Reduce the number of subtractions.
-
Offer to skip rooms without lowering the price.
-
Explain our minimum policy if needed.
-
3. Update the Service Set (If Needed)
-
If excluding bedrooms or bathrooms: update their counts.
-
If excluding dining/living room: no changes needed in counts, just leave a note.
4. Add Job Notes for the Cleaning Technicians
Be specific so the team knows exactly which rooms to skip:
